Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus

Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus

I’ve always been a fan of making my own hummus, because it’s incredibly easy and fool-proof.

Also because you can make it any flavor you like. I like to add fresh greens to mine, especially cilantro aka coriander.

This hummus is creamy, with a medium spice level, though that is adjustable based on your preferences. Want it to have a stronger kick? Add 3 jalapeños, instead of 2.

Ingredients:

2 jalapeños, seeds removed, diced

(this won't make it crazy hot. If you’re a lover of spice, add 3 jalapeños)

1 can 15 oz garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained

1 cup cilantro

3.5 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1/2 tsp salt

4 garlic cloves

6 tbsp tahini

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

water to thin~ approx. 2-3 tbsp

Method:

Blend all the ingredients together and top with extra virgin olive oil and roasted chickpeas!

Serve with cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper or pita chips!
